Graphic and type design
I draw identities, packaging and letters
I am Mira Volt. I work alone, I take two projects at a time, and I would rather tell you the price on the first email than on the fourth. Right now I am free for packaging with a printer already chosen, and for one typeface.
What I take on
Three things, done properly
Anything not on this list I will turn down, politely and quickly.
Identity
A mark, a typographic system, a colour set and a short book that shows how to use them. Six to nine weeks. I do not do workshops, brand archaeology or a two-hundred-page manual nobody opens.

Packaging
Structure, artwork and the files the printer actually wants. I want the printer in the conversation from week one; if there is no printer yet, that is the first thing we fix.

A typeface
A drawn family, two to five weights, Latin, with the fonts licensed in your name. Four months at the fastest. One of these runs at a time and it is usually booked.

Three jobs that went well
The rest, including the ones that went sideways, are on the work page.

Pellet Hardware
A tool shop that had been trading for forty years under a sign somebody painted in a hurry. New mark, a stencil alphabet, and price tickets the staff can fill in by hand without it looking like a mistake.

Nettle & Co
Eleven teas in one box size, printed in two colours on unbleached board. Two colours was the client's budget and it made the whole thing better, which I did not say out loud at the time.

Grotesk Brut
A five-weight grotesque with flat terminals and no apologies, drawn for a festival that needed posters legible from across a car park. Now licensed by the foundry.
Elsewhere
Everything that is not on this site
This site is the work and the terms. The rest lives in the places below.
The queue is eleven weeks
Two slots open in March. Tell me the deadline and the budget and I will tell you within two days whether it is a yes.
